Mark Paul Perry was born in Kent in the U.K. in 1967. He originally trained as a musician and performed as an accomplished guitarist, and songwriter, with the British band ‘State of Mind’. He went on to become a music producer and band manager.

In 2002 Mark made the decision to leave the music industry so that he could concentrate on developing his creative potential in other artistic areas. His passion and love for art prompting him to find this alternative form of self expression through painting.

Mark has exhibited alongside renowned artists such as Antony Gormley, Sir Peter Blake, Damien Hirst, Mary Fedden and Mark Wallinger as well as many other artists. In September 2009 Mark was invited to exhibit his work at the Saatchi Gallery in London as part of the charity auction for The Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Mark is currently one of the founding directors of The BIG Art Affair, which is to be one of London’s Newest Art Fairs bringing together international artists under one banner.

As an artist Mark is completely self-taught and in his work he seeks to communicate with the viewer on a variety of different levels. The most important element and that which so clearly defines his paintings, is his attempt to find an affinity and emotional resonance with the viewer.

Mark works with oil, acrylic and gesso on canvas, linen, board and paper which he manipulates, not only with traditional tools, but also a palette knife and airbrush to obtain the texture and movement desired.

It is this illusion of movement within the canvas and the heavily defined textures of his pieces for which he has become predominantly known.

Mark’s works have been exhibited widely and collected worldwide. He regularly undertakes commissions from private clients both in the UK and overseas. Mark’s paintings can also be found in private, commercial and corporate collections throughout the world including the USA, Canada, Australia and many parts of Europe.

Mark Paul Perry “I love simplicity in form. I portray this through the use of colour and texture on canvas. My paintings are inspired by snapshots of specific moments in time or through memories of particular events in my own life. I endeavour to capture these moods and emotions in the most basic form – light, colour and texture – which represent their fundamental essence”.

SEE ARTISTS - AT THE SAATCHI GALLERY - LONDON
The SEE Artists, Mark Paul Perry, Antony Fracis Jones, Ben Oakley and Peter Wait, in association with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, will be auctioning off there work at The Saatchi Gallery London on Saturday the 26th September, 7.30pm - 11.30pm.
For tickets and information for this event please visit, www.starlight.org.uk

Starlight Children’s Foundation is hosting an exciting new fundraiser ‘Art for Starlight’ on Saturday 26th September at The Saatchi Gallery. Some of the most exciting contemporary artists have been running workshops this summer for children creating joint mini-masterpieces which will be hung and sold at the Saatchi Gallery. During the day there is a private view of the children’s pieces and a fun picnic for the children and at night we are hosting a glamorous high profile party and auction for the grown ups. Our aim is to raise enough money to grant at least 100 wishes for Starlight children in one day and night….
Artists including in the exhibition, Olly and Suzi, Daisy De Villeneuve, Natasha Law, Zebedee Helm, Mark Paul Perry, Antony Francis Jones, Ben Oakley, Peter Wait, and Rosy James are all contributing a piece of work to the event, as well as designers Vivienne Westwood, Tim Gosling and Jimmy Choo. ‘Stars by the Stars’ - where your support could help so much.
We are creating a major collaborative piece of up to 100 mini canvasses with a ‘star’ theme to be hung together for just one day before being sold/auctioned in the evening – each canvas representing a wish. Some canvasses will be auctioned separately to ensure they are reach an appropriate amount and are not undervalued.
